WASHING MACHINE PARTS WE REPAIR OR REPLACE
IMPORTANCE OF WASHING MACHINE PARTS
No matter if your washing machine is new or old, parts of a washer can be worn down or break in time. It’s important to know how parts of a washing machine work to diagnose and replace or repair.
You can solve for some problems by replacing parts within an afternoon with a DIY project, but other problems need a professional to inspect the issue before suggesting a washing machine repair or any parts that need replacing.
WASHING MACHINE PARTS THAT CAN BE REPLACED:
As you can imagine, the motor is one of the most critical parts of your washer. The motor of a washing machine ensures your clothes get washed and spun. It comes with different speeds depending on how delicate your load of laundry is. Choose a heavy-duty setting if you want more agitation or a delicate cycle if you want a gentler wash.
In a top-loading washer, the agitator is the arm in the center of the machine that helps move your clothes around while washing. By agitating your clothes in the soapy water, this component removes dirt from your clothing. In addition to shaking your clothes through the water, the agitator makes the clothes rub against each other which also forces out dirt.
In a front loading washer, there’s no agitator. Instead, the drum rotates back and forth to agitate the clothes. Some newer top-loading washing machines may function without a traditional agitator and instead use a wash plate to help toss clothes around.
Printed Circuit Board (PCB)
Any electrical components and circuits are part of the PCB. The PCB is the part of the machine that receives the information regarding which wash option you select; such as which cycle you want, and executes it.
On the outside of the machine, you’ll find knobs or buttons that allow you to control how your laundry will be washed. These knobs and buttons are the programmer. Here, you can set the water level, cycle, temperature of the water, how many rinses you’d like and more.
Fill Hoses and Control Valve
When you fill your washing machine, the water comes in through the fill hoses. Typically, there’s one for cold water and one for hot water. These hoses must go into your machine through the water inlet control valve.
This valve controls how much water goes into the washing machine based on the water level you’ve chosen to use the programmer.
Washing machines have two tubs or drums, one known as the inner tub and the other known as the outer tub. A top loading washer’s tubs are mounted vertically while a front loading washer has horizontally positioned tubs. The inner tub holds the laundry, and the outer tub provides support.
Drain Pump and Hose
When your washer empties water after the wash or rinse cycle, the drain pump powerfully pulls the water out of the machine. The pump disposes of the water through the drain hose or pipe which leads to your home’s sewage system.
